Check it out: I was away from the Internet since Wednesday (I had to run a grenade launcher range at Fort Custer if you must know) and was pretty much beat by the time our convoy rolled back in. So it was a totally awesome surprise to get home to my computer and see that Contest Blogger had gone from 0 to 5 in the Google Page Rank update that happened over the weekend.
Google Page Rank is based on how many backlinks your website has, and I’m pretty happy to see Contest Blogger debut with a solid 5 ranking. But make no mistake: our new Page Rank has everything to do with our readers, who were cool enough to link back to Contest Blogger over the last three months.
Without you dudes our Page Rank would be zero, so I want to give you all a big thanks for rewarding this site with so many backlinks. I’m going to do my best to keep providing our readers with lots of high-quality, useful stuff in order to keep up our end of the deal (another one of my blogs, Romance Tracker, also received a PR 5, so I’m a happy guy today).
Some other contest blogs saw their Page Rank increase over the weekend, too, and Blog Contest Central has a good post that lists all of the new stats. Go check it out if you get a chance.
Another important update: some of you have written me to ask why the Contest Blogger Forum has disappeared from our front page. I’ve been having some problems with making the permalinks work correctly in the Simple Forum plugin I use, so it will stay down for a while until I can fix it.
And don’t forget that we have two sponsored contests going on that could win you some cool stuff: The Secret Contest which is over in a few days, and The Love Contest, which has a radical $100 grand prize. Go check them out, dude!
